“No young kid growing up ever dreams of someday becoming a businessman. He wants to be a fireman, a sponsored athlete, or a forest ranger. The Koch brothers and Donald Trumps of the business world are heroes to no one except other businessmen with similar values. I wanted to be a trapper when I grew up. “ -Yvon Chouinard

Like Chouinard I do not think most people grow up want to be pastor’s, at least I did not. But in my second year of college, I experienced a call to the ministry that changed my life.

After that I finished my degree at Fort Lewis College (Durango, CO) and worked for a church plant for two years before getting married and starting seminary at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Finishing in 09 I spent 6 years as an associate pastor in Lebanon Oregon before moving to Glenwood Springs, CO where I have had the privilege of pastoring Defiance Church the last 9 years.

There is no better time to be a pastor than now, and we privileged in all the ways we are gifted to lead our churches through what is a challenging age but is an adventure for us.
